Asmoli is situated in the midst of a
progressive cane belt, 180 Km north east of Delhi in district Moradabad, and at a
distance of 17 km from Joya-Sambhal road. It enjoys
locational advantages for supplying sugar to the Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Western U.P.
During
the 2009-10 season, the unit was operational for 130
days and crushed 65.94 lac quintals of sugarcane,
thereby witnessing a daily increase of 38.06 % over the previous season. The
Unit also showed an average increase of 4.50% in recovery.
Asmoli was the second green field project
designed by Dhampur and most major equipment were manufactured in-house. It
commenced production during the sugar season 1995-96 after being erected in a
record time of about 10 months. Initially, the process adopted by the factory
was double suplhitation but as the cane cultivation
increased, the capacity of the plant was progressively expanded and is
currently 9000 TCD. The unit employs DefcoRemelt
process with Ion exchange for producing refined sugar. The Boiling House of
the plant is equipped with energy saving devices to minimize steam
consumption at the level of 44-45 % on cane, with refinery.
The
factory has commissioned a 40 MW turbine and a 170 tonne
Multi-Fuel Boiler with working pressure of 105 kg/cm2. Up to 30 MW
of the power generated is exported to the UPPCL through the 132 KV line up to
Sambhal Sub station, 15 Km away from the site. Bagasse, a by-product of sugarcane, is used as fuel.
Asmoli commissioned it’s
Distillery Division with a capacity of 100,000 liters per day, in the year
2008. The main raw material used is Molasses, a by product of sugar division
and it’s products are Ethanol, ENA (Extra Neutral
Alcohol) and Rectified Spirit. Bio-gas produced is consumed in-house as fuel.
In
2008, the bio-compost unit was established where Press Mud, a by-product of
the sugar manufacturing process, is converted to Bio-fertilizer, utilizing
the distillery spent wash, thereby converting waste to wealth. The factory is
working on strong principle of Recycle – Reuse – Reduce concept. It also
manufactures a very high grade of Quick Lime using a Bagasse
Fired Lime Kiln.
Asmoli has well maintained grounds for sports
such as Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Badminton and other outdoor and indoor
games. The Management has also arranged regular yoga and sports coaching
classes for the staff and their families. The factory is significantly
involved in the development of a Green- belt in and around the premises.
We
have recently set up the Academy of Modern
Learning with one of it’s
branches at Asmoli. The school is equipped with
modern learning and sports facilities and encourages co-curricular activities
to facilitate wholesome development.
