A pioneer in developing a “full-potential” product portfolio from sugarcane, DBO (Dhampur Bio Organics) was the first sugar manufacturer in India to start eco-friendly cogeneration. With a much lower capital outlay than power plants of a similar vintage, we power turbines from steam extracted from bagasse – a by-product of the sugar manufacturing process. Today, DBO operates a cogeneration capacity of 95.5 MW, furthering our goal to be a leader in eco-friendly power generation.

DBO offers robust frameworks for bulk and long-term renewable energy supply designed to support industrial facilities, co-generation partners, and power distribution networks. With structured power purchase arrangements, flexible delivery mechanisms, and scalable capacity planning, we enable customers to manage large-volume energy requirements, reduce carbon footprints, and maintain uninterrupted operations.

DBO’s cogeneration model is designed to maximise energy efficiency across the manufacturing cycle. By generating power from bagasse at the point of production, DBO significantly reduces energy losses associated with transmission and reliance on external sourcing. This integrated approach improves overall plant efficiency, lowers dependence on fossil-based power, and ensures optimal utilisation of agricultural by-products. The result is a stable, cost-efficient renewable energy system that supports both operational resilience and long-term sustainability.
